Overview

Lightly populated, the remote province of Ratanakiri is a land blessed with cool rivers, waterfalls, and colorful fields, making this region as beautiful as a painting. Its people live at a slow but appeasing and soothing pace, in villages that are scattered throughout the hills. These minority tribes all meet up at Banlung, the only big town of the region, in order to sell their crops consisting of vegetables, fruits, and products from their hunts. Thanks to this 4-day off-the-beaten tracks adventure, you will experience intense moments.

Our guide will meet you at your hotel in Phnom Penh. You will then be transported to the airport for your flight to Ratanakiri province.

Upon your arrival at Ratanakiri airport, you will be picked up and driven to your hotel.

Then, you will be taken to Kachanh Waterfall and Katieng Village, 6 km northwest from Banlung, the capital of the province. You will visit Katieng, a village inhabited by the Tumpoun ethnic minority.

Overnight at Ratanak Hotel (or similar).

Today, you will go to Voeun Sai district. You will arrive at Fain, a village bordering the river. There, you will board a sampan and cross the river. You will visit an ethnic minority village at Pakalan, 3 km south of Voeun Sai. Then, you will return to visit Kachon Village.

Later, you will head to Banlung, with a stop scheduled along the way at Rumplan volcanic rock. Go for a walk in a cave nicknamed « Tiger Cave » by the locals, before swimming in Rumplan torrent.

Overnight at Ratanak Hotel (or similar).

Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast, you will depart for Bar Keo, located a few kilometers away from Banlung. You will stop at a village inhabited by the Charai minority group.

Then, you will visit a ruby mine in Bar Keo. The next stops will be made at O’yadao and Pak Thom villages, the latter housing a communal home. You will have the chance to visit pepper, coffee, and rubber plantations. Finally, you will end the day with an enchanting 90-min elephant ride.

Back to the town and overnight at Ratanak Hotel (or similar).

Breakfast, Lunch

Have breakfast at the hotel, before enjoying free time to visit the local market at Banlung. Later, you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Phnom Penh.
