Day 1Ho Chi Minh City – City Tour (L, D)
8:00 AM: Pick-up from your hotel for a city tour, including:
The Reunification Palace: used as the official residence of the presidents of South Vietnam and the site of the official handover of power during the Reunification Ceremony on April 30, 1975.
The Central Post Office, designed by architect Gustave Eiffel, and Notre-Dame Cathedral, Saigon's most iconic monument, built in 1891.
Visit to the Chinatown of Cho Lon, the Celestial Lady Pagoda, and the Giac Lam Pagoda – the oldest pagoda in Saigon.
Day 2Saigon – Ben Tre, Land Of Coconuts – Tra Vinh (B, L, D)
Boat excursion on the Ben Tre River, discovery of local life, exploration of Con Ho Island, meeting with locals
7:30 AM: Departure for the Mekong Delta to Mo Cay in Ben Tre province.
10:00 AM: Upon arrival in Mo Cay, a short walk under the coconut trees' shade to reach the pier, rowboat ride along small canals along the palm groves.
Boarding the boat to visit Thom Market, a well-known location for coconut trade and its artisanal workshops for coconut fiber and activated carbon, etc. Discover the enchanting and green landscapes of the Mekong Delta.
12:00 PM: The boat sails through the Co Chien River to reach Con Ho Island, an authentic corner covered with coconut gardens and orchards.
1:00 PM: Visit to some families working in tourism on Con Ho Island.
Dip your feet in medicinal herbs at Hai Trai.
Next, visit Vu Minh's grapefruit garden and taste grapefruits if it's the season.
Lunch at Mrs. Ba Phi's.
3:00 PM: Return on board the boat to reach the pier.
Head to Cau Ke, Tra Vinh, Take a walk around the village surroundings.
Evening: You can participate in cooking traditional Vietnamese pancakes.
Dinner and overnight at Suonsia homestay
Day 3Cau Ke Ba Mi: Immersion In Khmer Culture - Bac Lieu (B, L, D)
Ride bikes through Khmer villages and along country roads, where you'll have the chance to meet locals and discover their daily lives. Visit ancient Theravada Buddhist pagodas and the old Huynh Ky house, built in the early 20th century in a typical colonial style. This house is a true architectural masterpiece with its relief statues and varied wooden carvings.
Next, visit a coconut nectar company and discover the traditional work of local people who collect nectar from coconut flowers.
Enjoy lunch at a local home.
Afternoon: Head to Bac Lieu, stopping in Soc Trang to visit the ancient Bat Pagoda. Overnight in Bac Lieu.Day 4 Bac Lieu - Ca Mau, Nam Can (B, L, D)
Visit the Khmer Ghositaram Pagoda, Co Vien Lau House, then head to Nam Can, Ca Mau—a fascinating world where imposing century-old mangrove trees line winding canals and rich alluvial mudflats. This unique landscape is a true natural sanctuary, serving as a refuge and breeding ground for numerous animal species.
Overnight in Nam Can
Day 5Nam Can – Ca Mau – CBT Nga Nam (B, L, D)
Embark on a boat excursion through the Nam Can mangrove forest in Ca Mau to admire the sunrise in an exceptional natural setting. Visit a traditional shrimp farm, typical of the region. Enjoy lunch on-site, amidst this authentic environment.
Have lunch at a local's home.
Then, head to CBT Nga Nam. Dinner and overnight at a homestay.
Day 6Nga Ba Nam Floating Market – Can Tho (B, L)
Begin your day with a visit to the Nga Nam floating market, a hidden gem rarely seen by tourists. Immerse yourself in the vibrant local life as boats laden with goods navigate the waterways.
Next, embark on a motorcycle adventure to explore the charming village surroundings. You'll have the unique opportunity to help a local family make traditional cakes, gaining insight into their daily life and culinary customs. Afterward, enjoy a delicious homemade lunch at their residence.
In the afternoon, we'll drive to Can Tho. Overnight in Can Tho
Day 7Can Tho Floating Market – Cai Lay – Hochiminh (B, L)
After breakfast, immerse yourself in the vibrant Cai Rang Floating Market, the largest in the Mekong Delta. Here, observe the unique tradition of boats signaling their wares by hanging samples from a pole.
Visit Tu Dung orchard and enjoy tasting fresh tropical fruits, followed by a tour of a vermicelli workshop.
On the way back to Saigon, stop in Cai Lay at a local farmer’s home to admire his bonsai and fruit trees. Learn how to prepare Banh Xeo, a signature dish of the Mekong Delta. Enjoy a homemade lunch in a warm, rural atmosphere.
Back to Hochiminh-city.
