Day 1Hanoi – Pu Luong, Land Of The White Thai People (L, D)
Drive to Pu Luong, exploring the authentic life of the Thai ethnic group, and discovering water wheels.
Depart for the Pu Luong Reserve, taking a beautiful mountain road. You will arrive at Pu Luong around noon. Lunch will be served at a local's house.
Make stops along the way to enjoy panoramic views of small terraced rice valleys in villages like Dong Dieng, Bang, Bam, showcasing beautiful karst landscapes. You can take walks or hikes through the terraced rice fields and villages. Transfer to the suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you will see magnificent water wheels (norias) installed along the stream banks – one of Pu Luong's iconic images. These enormous water wheels are a clever irrigation system that brings water from the stream to the rice fields. Approach each wheel and discover the original irrigation method of the Thai ethnic group. You will understand how water travels from a river to a bamboo aqueduct handmade through simple installations of various sizes. Enjoy a bamboo raft ride along the stream to fully appreciate the serenity of nature and picturesque landscapes on both sides. You can try paddling and steering the bamboo raft yourself.
For accommodation, you can choose to stay either in a homestay dormitory or in an Ecolodge in the village of Ban Don.
Day 2Pu Luong Terraced Rice Fields – Hanoi (B, L)
Morning walk in the beautiful rice valley of Don Ngon Leo.
After breakfast, take a stroll along small paths lined with tropical vegetation and houses on stilts with roofs covered in palm leaves. Explore the beautiful rice valley of Don Ngon Leo. Immerse yourself in the calm nature and appreciate the stunning rural scenery: terraced rice fields, ponds, stilt houses of the Thai Black people nestled at the foot of the mountain. Observe the daily life of the villagers and their agricultural activities. Take this opportunity to interact with the local residents and capture beautiful photos. Lunch in Pu Luong.
Afternoon: On the way back to Hanoi.

Useful Information
It is hot in the North from April to November. Bring sunscreen, a raincoat, a hat, and insect repellent.
Warm clothing is advisable during winter (mid-November to early March). Bring a towel and toiletries for the night at the homestay. In Pu Luong, there are two rice seasons: from February to May and from June to September.
Out of respect for the places of worship, such as temples and pagodas, appropriate attire is required, and knees and shoulders must be covered.
Highly recommended safety equipment: insect repellent, hiking shoes.
